• Procedure for filling trucks

Strictly forbidden to smoke in the safety zone ;
Protect the hands (gloves) and eyes (goggles) ;
Halt the truck above the filling area marked out on the ground ;
Put the hand brake on and turn off the truck contact switch ;
Check that the filling stop cock on the tank is fully open ;
Loosen the filling cup protection cap ;
Connect the filling nozzle ;
Hold the "dead man" button down manually to open the solenoid valve ;
The truck is filled ;
Wait for filling to stop automatically (apparent from a change in sound linked to the transfer of the liquid stopping) by watching the gauge before releasing the "dead man" button ;
Check that the volume delivered is no more than 85% ;
Disconnect the filling nozzle and return it to its housing ;
Retighten the safety cap on the filling hole.

In the event of danger, stop filling by pushing the emergency stop button. This button has to be reset by an authorised person using a key once the anomaly has been identified and repaired.

• Servicing
Servicing operations and work must be carried out by specialists.

To keep the facility working properly, users should pay particular attention to the following points :

Check that there is more than 15% propane in the tank to avoid damaging the pump ;
Check that the nozzle nose seal is in good condition ;
Make sure that the hose does not trail on the track.

• Maintenance contract
It is recommended to take out a maintenance contract for the distribution stations (pump + trucks). Maintenance of the storage tank is included in the propane carburation supply contract.

Spare parts to be held in stock for rapid repairs :

A solenoid valve coil ;
A filling nozzle ;
Three nozzle nose seals.

• General safety instructions

The safety instructions must be displayed in the station. It is essential that they are understood and complied with by all users, that the extinguishers are working properly and that the equipment has not been modified or damaged in any way that could compromise safety.

• Leaks
Accidental leaks are possible in the tank equipment, pipework or pump.

There are two possible causes :

Equipment defects. This applies particularly to very slight leaks affecting mainly the connections between the accessories.
Handling errors. The leaks are likely to bring larger quantities of gas into play (hose pulled out, poor connection to the truck, etc.).
